The Society organises the First Hong Kong Palliative Care Symposium

Promoting "Celebrate Life" a mobile life and death education programme for the elderly in the communities.

Collaborated with the Vocational Training Council and initiated the ˇ§End-of-Life Care Workerˇ¨ and ˇ§Personal Care Workerˇ¨ Certificate Course for a broader spectrum of frontline careworkers.

With the generous support of the Hongkong Bank Foundation, the Society piloted a 3-year ˇ§End-of-Life Careˇ¨ training programme, which aims to empower healthcare professionals with knowledge and skills in providing End-of Life care for the community.

The Society sponsored the set up of the CancerCare and Support Centre at Queen Mary Hosptial, of which includes a multi-disciplinary Palliative Care Consultative Team.

Estabalishment of the Jessie and Thomas Tam Centre, the first community bereavement support service, education and resource centre in Hong Kong.

In a move signalling the Hong Kong government's support for hospice care, the Society transfers the operation of the Bradbury Hospice to the Hospital Authority.

The Bradbury Hospice, Hong Kong's first freestanding hospice, in Shatin. It puts hospice care concepts into practice and provides training for health care professionals.

A home nursing programme, whihc provides in-home care for people with life-limiting deseases, is launched.
