Losing a loved one is an irreversible loss, one of the most painful life experiences for the surviving family members. The death of a significant other often causes a broad range of reactions such as feeling lonely and depressed, losing one’s appetite and avoiding to meet people.
Most people are able to cope with these reactions, work through their own grief, adjust to the great change in their life and eventually move on. However, some people find it hard to resolving their feelings about the loss and struggle in overwhelming emotions with the sudden loss. In these cases, we provide professional bereavement counseling to support individual or families.
Besides helping with post-death coping, our counselling also extends to families with patients suffering from a life-threatening illness in facing and preparing for the impending death and separation.
