Society for the Promotion of Hospice Care

Christmas is often associated with celebration and festivities, but for some, it is a time to honour the memory of the departed. For over 30 years, the Society for the Promotion of Hospice Care has organized the "Light Up a Life" Christmas Carol Concert, an annual charity event held in loving remembrance of those who are gone but never forgotten. You are warmly invited to attend this year’s carol concert on Tuesday, 5 December 2023 at 7:15pm in St. John’s Cathedral.

We would like to invite you to take part in this uplifting event as we pray and give thanks for life. This year’s event especially as it will be the first fully unrestricted Carol Concert since COVID-19. In keeping with tradition, featured with live choir performances and the iconic “Tree of Life” lighting ceremony, followed by serving mince pies and mulled wine at the garden.

The "Tree of Life" will shine on

Since the start of pandemic restrictions, many have had to endure heartbreaking loss without the chance to say goodbye. At the Jockey Club Home for Hospice, we are committed to helping terminal patients, especially the underprivileged, complete life’s journey with comfort, dignity and surrounded by the love of family members. Please consider supporting our mission by making a donation on your Remembrance Card and returning it to us in advance. On the day of the Carol Concert, your Remembrance Card will be placed on the “Tree of Life” to commemorate your loved ones.

After the Carol Concert, "Tree of Life" will continue to shine brightly at the Jockey Club Home for Hospice (JCHH) this Christmas. As a donor, you are welcome to dedicate a personalized card to a loved one before placing it on the Tree of Life at JCHH. Together, we can make a difference this holiday season!
